The young Marketmen, who are looking to retain their league title win last season, featured some players who were involved in the Under-23's 8-5 unbelievable win over Cornard United, with Ollie Fraser - who hit a hat-trick this time around notably notching a quickfire first half brace in that fixture, at the start of the month.
Framlingham however started the better side, with the away side having the first chance after just 29 seconds. Hayden Freeman threaded Kian Wilson through down the left-hand side of the box, whose shot was deflected just over the top near corner for an early corner.
And from that corner the visitors broke the deadlock, the set-piece was cleared back to Dylan Sadler out on the left wing who smashed a great strike into the bottom far corner, despite the best efforts of goalkeeper Tucker who got a hand to it, 0-1.
The young Marketmen meanwhile went close on 6 minutes, Ollie Fraser hared through onto a through-ball down the left wing, but his good cross in towards Ed Barker arriving from 6-yards out took a vital deflection away from the forward.
While Ivan Sanchez found space to shoot, only to fire his shot over the bar in the tenth minute, Alex Oakley was found with a clever ball onto the right-hand side of the box but was unlucky to see keep his sidefooted shot go over from close range a minute later.
The away side on the other hand saw a fierce 40-yard free-kick, lasered across goal from the left-hand side, well blocked by a Needham defender on 14 minutes, before Ollie Fraser agonisingly dragged a 30-yard low shot just wide of the bottom far right-hand corner two minutes later.
A vital clearance of the goal-line however denied the visitors from doubling their lead in the 20th minute, the young Castlemen got through dangerously down the left-hand side of the box but the shot from inside the six yard box was vitally blocked off the line at the near post.
The two Barkers at the other end looked to combine in a great chance for the home side three minutes later, Eddie's great left wing cross into the six yard box looked to pick out namesake Ed free at the far post, but for Goalkeeper Fred Hudson to punch the ball away well.
An excellent stop from Rowan Tucker though denied goalscorer Sadler from grabbing his second goal of the night a minute later, the Framlingham forward's left wing, well taken curling, free-kick was creeping into Tucker's top right-hand corner but for a superb flying save from the shot-stopper to tip it over for a corner.
Ed Barker again was close to drawing Needham back on level terms on 27 minutes, Ivan Sanchez snuck through onto the left-hand byline inside the box, the full-back then smashed a great ball across the face of goal, which just evaded the diving former from a hard out at the back post.
A good crossfield ball from the away side then found a man free inside the box at the far post, sixty seconds later, but after a good first touch the shot was fired over the crossbar.
The visitors on the other hand did double their lead on 33 minutes, a low ball across was spilt by Tucker as far as Quinn Covey unmarked from close range to finish well low into the middle of the net, 0-2 Framlingham.
The young Marketmen reacted quickly though and halved the deficit three minutes later, a great ball into the six yard box from the left wing fell to Alex Oakley whose first effort at goal was well smothered by Hudson while his second was tucked away well into the bottom near right-hand corner, 1-2.
The home side sparked into life, with Aiden Jolly just unable to latch onto Eddie Barker's brilliant lifted ball over the top, with Hudson able to gather on 39 minutes.
Ed Barker then saw a shot from a tight angle at close range beaten away well by a good save from Hudson guarding his near left-hand post soon after, while Ollie Fraser fired Needham back onto level terms after 41 minutes. The forward, who has been selected for the England U18 Schoolboys North v South trial in early December, found space to smash a great 35-yard strike towards the bottom near corner, which proved too powerful for Hudson, with the ball going, unfortunately for the 'keeper, through his legs, 2-2.
The two Barkers successfully did link up in a fantastic chance on 44 minutes, a sumputous right wing corner from Eddie found Ed unmarked, leaping highest from close range only to glance his diving header agonisingly wide of the bottom far corner.
Having grown into the half well, the home side again looked to finish it in style, Ollie Fraser broke through onto the left-hand byline before cutting the ball back smartly to Aiden Jolly whose first time shot from 8-yards just went over the crossbar.
While a draw was a fair result at the break, the young Marketmen soon motored into a 4-2 lead within three minutes of the restart.
Just 55 seconds from kick-off it was quickly 3-2 to the young Reds courtesy of a stunning hit from Eddie Barker, the attacking midfielder emulated his stunning goal against Woodbridge Town in the County Cup with a 30-yard rocket that flew into the top far left-hand corner.
By the 48th minute it was 4-2 to the hosts, Dimitri Gayle was threaded through one on one with Hudson by a brilliant defence splitting pass, with the winger first to the ball to stab home past the onrushing goalkeeper into the bottom right-hand corner.
Framlingham responded with an early second half goal of their own, reducing the deficit to 4-3 after 52 minutes, Hayden Freeman broke through on goal before picking out the right-hand corner.
In dramatic fashion, it was almost all square again just two minutes later, the away side found space on the right-hand side of the box only to laser their shot agonisingly just wide of the bottom far corner.
Needham meanwhile went close again on 56 minutes, Fraser this time threaded Mileeq Banya through with a great return pass into acres of space down the left-hand side of the box, though his low shot was well gathered at the second attempt by Hudson.
Dimitri Gayle though saw a cracking effort denied by the woodwork two minutes later, the winger tried his luck at a brace with a brilliant curling strike from right-hand edge of the box albeit his effort smacked just wide off the outside of the far post.
Another potential candidate for goal of the season then followed in the 62nd minute with Ollie Fraser netting his second goal of the night, also scoring Needham's fifth in style, the forward found space from 35-yards out on the left wing to curl an audacious strike that dipped perfectly into the top far corner, 5-3 Needham.
But the action was far from over, James Letts' great left wing ball in just evaded Ed Barker sliding in from close range, as the ball went a centimetre wide of the bottom far corner on 66 minutes, while Dimitri Gayle saw his shot on target blocked behind the near post for a corner, falling some neat dancing feet from Ollie Fraser who picked out the forward with a great cutback on the left-hand byline three minutes later.
And it was from that resulting set-piece that Needham extended their lead, Eddie Barker added his second goal of the night after his strike went in via a deflection, 6-3 Needham.
With 19 minutes left on the clock, the chances kept coming, Dimitri Gayle fed Ollie Fraser through onto the left-hand edge of the box whose curling strike took a crucial deflection taking it just over the top near corner for a Needham corner.
While James Letts shot over the bar five minutes later, Luca Braddon pounced to extend his side's lead to 7-3 on 78 minutes. Gayle drove through smartly into space down the right hand side of the box to curl a clever close range strike across goal, from a tight angle, only for a strong hand from diving goalkeeper Hudson to palm it away. The rebound fell to Braddon with his back to goal, who spun well before smashing home into the top left-hand corner.
Two minutes later, Dylan Sadler reduced the deficit again with a neat goal back, the forward netted his second in the process as he found space down the left-hand side of the box before finishing well into the bottom far corner, 7-4.
Eddie Barker looked to respond instantly, however only to volley over the bar from the edge of the box, before Letts curled a good strike on the left-hand edge of the box just wide of the top far corner after 84 minutes.
Straight up the other end seconds later, Sadler further reduced the deficit to 7-5 with his third goal of the night and a carbon copy of his second.
Again, Needham responded well - this time restoring their 3 goal advantage. Just seconds prior to that though, good skill from Ollie Fraser saw the winger hold off the challenge of a defender, but for dangerous smashed ball across the face of goal to just evade Gayle on 89 minutes. Gayle then picked up possession on the right-hand byline inside the penalty area whose cutback to Ollie Fraser was free from a yard out to well and truly thump home his third goal of the encounter, 8-5.
While that rounded off the scoring, it was almost 8-6 as Framlingham saw a shot following a cross into point blank range cleared off the line three minutes into stoppage time.
That drew to a close an entertaining night at Bloomfields in which both sides played some good football.
