Moreton Hall Ferals continued their 100% record on Sunday with a 9-1 victory away to Howards.
Defending champions Ferals debuted their new maroon away kit in style, with chances falling to the visitors aplenty within the first ten minutes.
The opening opportunity saw Lewis Kemp's dangerous free kick evade everyone as it went narrowly wide of the bottom far corner after just two minutes had been played, whilst Jake Peasgood's shot was pounced on by deputising goalkeeper Shaun Davies ahead of Fred Stewart-Hogg, having intially spilt it two minutes later.
And after just five minutes Ferals were awarded a penalty as Harry Whiting-Noakes was brought down as he looked to weave his way through the box.
Up stepped Jake Peasgood who dispatched the spot-kick empathically into the top left-hand corner, 1-0 Ferals.
Some great play from Ferals almost saw then double their lead in the tenth minute, after Callum Dove's dangerous run through onto the byline saw the attacker cut back possession to Lewis Kemp on the penalty spot, whose first time shot drew a good save from Davies to parry it away. The rebound however fell to goalscorer Jake Peasgood, who flashed a fierce shot just wide of the bottom left-hand corner.
But it was 2-0 to the current league leaders, who now won all their three league games so far this season, on 14 minutes. George Crowe's pinpoint dangerous in swinging corner found Ben Newdick, who leapt like a salmon to glance his header home into the top left-hand corner.
Whilst Stewart-Hogg drew an easy save from Davies shortly after the quarter-hour mark, Charlie Cook set up Howards first chance of the morning on 25 minutes, as his dangerous corner saw a free header directed towards goal forcing goalkeeper Aston Fallows to palm it away.
Five minutes later though, Ferals went agonisingly close again, which started with Jack Brame feeding Ben Newdick, who in turn cleverly passed it onto Jake Peasgood - the latter's neat step over then allowed the forward to whip an audacious ball across the face of the gaping goal, which just needed a touch but instead flashed a centimetre wide of the bottom far corner.
Some incredible defending from Howards captain James Attwood saw the home defender dumbfound Ferals as to how they didn't score a third, eleven minutes before the break. Excellent skill from Callum Dove saw the Ferals man spin past his defence to get through to a shooting position inside the box, though his otherwise goalbound shot was diverted onto the face of the crossbar by Attwood on the goal-line.
Charlie Cook meanwhile curled a decent low strike wide of the target three minutes later, whilst Lewis Kemp smashed just over the top left-hand corner from just outside the box soon after.
A great save from Davies thwarted Ferals from adding to their lead on 41 minutes, palming Callum Dove's great low strike just outside the box behind for a corner.
Ferals then went agonisingly close a minute later, after Charlie Glover's sumptuous dipping shot came back off the top off the crossbar, the ball fell to Jake Peasgood free from point blank range but the keeper made the save.
Ben Newdick's dangerous cross-shot meanwhile forced Davis off his line to punch it just wide of the far post for a corner on 44 minutes, whilst Jake Peasgood's dangerous free kick was punched away as far as Harry Whiting-Noakes whose shot was deflected just wide into the top left-hand side netting on the verge of the interval.
And straight after the restart, Ferals tripled their lead as Lewis Kemp got through down the right-hand side whose fierce low shot was deflected into the bottom far corner off Attwood, 3-0.
Five minutes later, Ferals added a fourth goal, Lewis Kemp was fed through once again on the right-hand side inside the box, this time his shot from close range was smothered by Davis as far as Fred Stewart-Hogg on the follow up to poke home ahead of the defender on the line into the top right-hand corner.
It was quickly 5-0 in the 54th minute, similarly to the fourth goal Kemp was through down the right-hand side in the post, again his close range shot was smothered by both Davis and the defender on the line, the ball then fell to Dan Allen free from point blank range to poke it over the line.
The post meanwhile denied Ferals a minute later, as Fred Stewart-Hogg's deflection on Davis' clearance rebounded just wide off the outside of the near left-hand post.
Jake Peasgood however flashed a ferocious shot just wide of the top right-hand corner on 56 minutes, before Ferals then added a sixth goal on 59 minutes.
Fred Stewart-Hogg's neat pass from the byline to Callum Dove saw the latter add the sixth different name to the scoresheet finishing ruthlessly off the underside of the crossbar and up into the roof of the net!
Just after the hour mark, Dove was denied from adding another in quick succession, having been fed through inside the box by Peasgood the former's shot was goalbound via the inside of the post had it not been for Davis getting down well to parry it away.
Ferals added a seventh goal with yet another different scorer on 62 minutes, again courtesy of a Lewis Kemp assist, this time feeding Harry Whiting-Noakes free down the right-hand byline to expertly finish from a tight angle into the bottom far gaping corner.
Up the other end though, Charlie Cook's deflected 25-yard free-kick went just over the crossbar on 65 minutes, whilst Howards did pick up a consolation from the resulting corner. Cook's set piece was pinpoint to Liam Hume free at the back post to leap highest and direct a bullet header into the top right-hand corner.
Jake Peasgood though flashed a dangerous low ball across the face of the hosts' goal, although it went just wide on 67 minutes, before the Ferals number 9 side footed over from Lewis Kemp's cutback on 74 minutes.
Another well played Kemp cutback meanwhile set up Ben Newdick in space just outside the box moments later, but this time his low shot at the bottom left-hand corner was well saved by the keeper.
Some excellent defending from George Crowe meanwhile denied James Attwood from adding a second Howards goal, as his shot at the bottom right-hand corner from Cook's cutback was poked off the line well by the well placed Ferals defender.
Then in the 77th minute, a good save from Aston Fallows denied Cook one on one, diving down whilst off his line to his right-hand side to palm the shot behind for a corner.
Ferals on the other hand were denied by the crossbar a minute later, Peasgood threaded Kemp racing through free once more who this time crossed it into Fred Stewart-Hogg there at the far post but with the goal at his mercy looped it just over the crossbar.
Six minutes from full-time, Ferals added to their advantage as Jake Peasgood grabbed his second and Ferals' eighth by expertly curling home into the middle far left-hand corner from in space inside the box.
A good save though from Davis denied Dove from adding what would've been his second goal of the game on 87 minutes, Peasgood's great ball in found Dove arriving to instinctively direct goalwards only to be denied by a great save from the Howards stopper, who parried it away.
Seconds later though Peasgood went close to sealing his hat trick as his great strike dipped back into play off the underside of the crossbar. But he'd soon after another opportunity to do so as Fred Stewart-Hogg was fouled inside the box.
Up stepped Peasgood, who started the scoring and finished it off with his personal treble, confidently placing it home into the bottom right-hand corner, 9-1.
Ferals are in league action again next week when they return to Hardwick Heath to host Occold, whilst Howards travel to Mellis.
